What can I expect after treatment?

Immediately after your SkinPen procedure, you will experience redness, pinpoint bleeding and minimal swelling, similar to a mild sunburn. All of these effects are a normal response post procedure. Residual redness may persist for 24-72 hours post-procedure depending on the depth of treatment. This is considered a minimal downtime procedure. You may resume normal daily activity the following day! Strenuous exercise and heavy makeup application should be avoided for 48 hours after your treatment.

Does it hurt?

On a scale of 1-10, our clients rate microneedling at a 3 or less! Prior to your treatment, we apply a topical numbing cream to make you as comfortable as possible.

When will I see results?

Results are typically seen within a week after treatment and they will continue to improve over two to three months. Microneedling can be safely repeated every four to six weeks until the desired effect is obtained. The number of treatments depends on each patient’s unique response and skin issues they wish to address.

Standard vs. Advanced

We offer both Standard and Advanced microneedling services at The Facebar. The Standard service is all that is listed above, the Advanced service is microneedling with the addition of hyaluronic acid filler. The HA filler is used in place of a serum to elevate the results of traditional microneedling. Hyaluronic acid when absorbed into the skin after microneedling, can aid in adding volume to visible signs of aging to smooth and tighten the skin.
